Amazing New Jeep Call of Duty Black Ops Edition

•December 9, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Videogame publishers used to scramble to license automobile brands for use in their games. Now the tail’s wagging the dog.

Chrysler said Wednesday that it will produce a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition that will arrive in dealerships this November. Activision will release the highly anticipated first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops Nov. 9 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC.

Based on the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon model, the vehicle will feature a black exterior, massive 32-inch off-road tires and Call of Duty: Black Ops graphics on the roof and front quarter panels.

The sticker price is $30,625 for the two-door model and $33,500 for the four-door model. As a piece of limited-edition game swag, the Jeep makes those who bought last year’s Modern Warfare 2 night-vision goggles look positively frugal.

“Our work with the Jeep team focused around using the Jeep Wrangler in our levels, and gameplay experiences, and translating the style and look of the vehicle in Black Ops to the Jeep on the showroom floor that our fans can own,” said Mark Lamia, head of Black Ops developer Treyarch, in a statement.

Fingers crossed that Sikorsky makes a Halo helicopter next.

How To Adjust Headlights

•December 1, 2010 • Leave a Comment
Face the front of your vehicle 25 feet away from a wall. Make sure the ground is level and the vehicle is perpendicular to the wall.

Measure from the ground to the center of the headlight lenses. Measure the distance between the two headlight lenses.

Place a horizontal strip of masking tape on the wall four inches lower than the headlight lenses. Place the tape directly in front of the vehicle and mark the centerline.

Turn the headlights on (low beams).

Turn the vertical adjustment screw until the top of the headlight beam is aligned with the tape on the wall.

Headlight Adjustment Bolt for Vertical Adjustment of the Headlight Assembly

Turn the horizontal adjustment screw until the headlight beam is straight ahead. To ensure proper horizontal adjustment, the measurement between the headlight lenses and the beams on the wall should be equal.

1 Secure your vehicle on a level surface, making sure your car will not roll or lean when jacked up.

2 Using a floor jack, lift up the rear of your vehicle.

3 Secure the vehicle with jack stands on both sides for safety before starting any work. The pinch welds or the frame rails are the two best locations. Do not rely on the jack to hold the vehicle up while working. 4 Inspect the rear differential housing for leaks. 5 Remove the gear oil fill plug.

6 Clean the bottom of the differential cover to remove debris if not already done.

7 Place a drain pan under the rear differential. Loosen and remove all of the differential cover bolts, except for the top 2 or 3, and carefully pry the cover away from the housing to drain the oil. 8 Remove the top bolts and pull the cover off.

9 Thoroughly clean the mounting surfaces of the differential cover and housing 10 Apply sealant to the differential cover mounting surface. Place the new gasket on the cover. 11 Apply sealant to the differential housing mounting surface. Install the cover assembly and torque the bolts evenly to 25-35 ft. lbs.

12 Fill the housing with the manufacturer’s recommended gear oil until the oil has reached the bottom of the fill plug hole. 13 Tighten the fill plug to 20-30 ft. lbs. 14 Lower the vehicle to the ground and road test. Check the rear differential for leaks.
